About the role
We are looking for a passionate Adult Literacy & ESL Support Tutor to help adult learners in our community improve their English language skills and digital literacy. This role focuses on empowering individuals—particularly recent immigrants and elders—to gain the confidence they need to navigate everyday life, access local services, and feel fully integrated into the community
What you'll be doing
Session Delivery: Conduct weekly small-group or one-to-one conversational English and basic digital skills sessions.
Resource Preparation: Adapt existing learning materials to suit different language proficiencies, keeping content engaging and culturally sensitive.
Progress Tracking: Provide gentle feedback and encouragement, helping learners set and achieve personal communication milestones.
Community Outreach: Help welcome new learners to the center and assess their initial learning needs in a comfortable environment.
What you'll bring
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
A warm, patient, and highly encouraging teaching style.
Basic IT proficiency (navigating tablets, smartphones, and online forms) to assist learners.
Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus, but not required.
