About the role
Join us as a Food Bank & Community Kitchen Coordinator to help tackle local food insecurity. Our community hub provides hot meals and weekly grocery parcels to vulnerable families of all backgrounds. In this role, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that food distribution runs smoothly, safely, and with the utmost dignity for our visitors.
What you'll be doing
Stock Management: Receive, sort, and log incoming food donations from local businesses, supermarkets, and community members.
Distribution Setup: Organise the packing of weekly food parcels based on household sizes and dietary requirements.
Guest Welcome: Greet visitors warmly, manage the reception desk, and maintain a respectful, welcoming atmosphere.
Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff to ensure surplus fresh ingredients are utilised effectively.
What you'll bring
Strong organisational skills and the ability to keep physical spaces tidy.
A compassionate, non-judgmental attitude toward individuals facing hardship.
Physical fitness to handle light lifting (sorting crates and grocery boxes).
An understanding of Halal food requirements and basic food hygiene practices.
